The big day is almost here…

Hope y’all are all as psyched as I am for a Thanksgiving Day tryptophan nap!

(Personally, it’s my favorite food coma of the year.)
However, I just read that it’s actually a myth. In fact, tryptophan is a routine constituent of most protein-based foods or dietary proteins. It is particularly plentiful in chocolate, oats, dried dates, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, red meat, eggs, fish, poultry, sesame, chickpeas, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, spirulina + peanuts. Despite popular belief that turkey has a particularly high amount of tryptophan, the amount of tryptophan in turkey is typical of most poultry.
Soooooo, it’s actually overeating a carbohydrate-packed meal coupled w/ over-drinking spiked apple cider + only a slight interest in professional football that leads you to pass out on the couch at 5:30 p.m. sharp. It’s science.

ANYWAY…I thought I’d leave y’all w/ some Turkey Day Trivia questions that you can whip out at the table if you want everyone in your family to think that you are smarter than them. Study up!
