So, I have this adorable new coworker, Megan.

Megan’s fiancé, Jon, is a finance guy by day and a musician by night
Last night, I was fortunate enough to get an invitation to see one of this bands play at Blind Willies. I’m not going to lie – I think the name alone swayed my decision to attend: Burnt Bacon. (…well, you know how we feel about Bacon.) I figure, with a name like (Burnt) Bacon, they have to be good.
But they weren’t good…they were INCREDIBLE.
Here’s the Q+DD on BB: The 4 core players, Jon Liebman, Chris Uhler, Oliver Wood, and Dave Roth, who all play with their own bands, come together monthly to jam with each other and deliver a pretty spectacular sound. They describe their style as “smoky blues, classic rhythm and blues, soul, Creole, and folk with some jazz, gospel and country thrown in.”
Listen, we got there about a half hour before they started and it was easy to score a seat right up front… but as soon as they played their first note, the place was PACKED. (Sidebar: The crowd was quite diverse – I think every demographic, age range and personality type were represented. Normally, this is the type of crowd that would compete for my attention, but I am telling you, the band rocked out so hard that I was glued to the stage.) It’s immediately apparent that all 4 of these guys are 1) tremendously talented and 2) having the time of their lives on the stage. It’s hard not to love a band like that.

I’m BEGGING you to check them out. Check out their website here, become a fan on Facebook here, and to be a “Burnt Baconeer,” sign up for their email list here.
It’s (burnt) BACON!
Sorry, had to get that out of my system. Anyway, go see the band. Trust me. They’re not just good they’re BACON good.
