I heart my TOMS

Love the shoe, love the company’s One for One movement, love it all.  They are one of my favorite pairs of shoes that I own, in fact!

my gold sequin TOMSies

The style isn’t for everyone, though.  Good news is that TOMS is now making super cute ballet flats!  Although they aren’t available quite yet, you can pre-order them.  Just adore these: so cute + feminine.

Pre-order at Nordstrom here: TOMS ballet flats!

Super, super cute. :)

Just when I thought I couldn’t love Lululemon any more than I already do…I waltzed in last week, fell in love, waited the 7 excruciating days for alterations and today picked up my new…

Tadasana Yoga Pants.

They’re a little slimmer and a little more flattering than my beloved Groove Pants and a little higher waisted, too, so they’re perhaps even MORE practical for all kinds of exercise…and they’ll look just a teeny bit cuter when I just put on workout clothes and traipse around town pretending I worked out!

I love you, lulu.

Namaste and all that!

Sooooooo, are y’all snagging some deals today or WHAT??

It’s like the whole Internet is on sale.

I ran out during lunch for SUPER official business (i.e. to work on my sequin-hot mess of a New Years Eve outfit) + my mission is now accomplished!  Nothing I bought was on sale, unfortunately, but sequins are E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E.!  It’s definitely my favorite time of the year.

hey hey, new years eve: prepare yourself...

Happy Cyber Monday, Internet shoppers!

So I have a new uniform.  If you’ve seen me in the evenings or on the weekends lately, whether casual or dressy – I have likely been wearing these pants:

Allow me to introduce you to the “Legginskirt” ™ by Jane Darling by ME Leggings.  With a skirt attached.  Seems simple but I had no idea how versatile they would be.  The spandex-y material is perfect – you can be active in them, lounge around in them, and still feel cute throwing on a pair of heels and going out to dinner in them!  Seriously.  I am in love.  I think I wore them almost every day in Italy.  They are PERFECT for travel.  Check it:

LK in JDBM in Italia!

Here’s the Q+DD on Jane Darling by ME Started by local Atlanta designers Marty Alterman and Emily Mak, JDBM is a line that was created out of necessity.   Marty was looking for a way to gracefully transition after she hit “a certain age” and wanted to show a little less skin and still be cute. She teamed up with her trusty alterations genius Emily and what happened next is magic:  Super. Flattering. Clothes. For. All!

The line is NOT just Legginskirts™.  It’s jackets.  It’s shirts.  It’s dresses. It’s tunics.  It’s a line full of your go-to clothes.  Everything is slimming:  the shirts fit a little longer, the fabric is a little sturdier and more forgiving, there’s strategic ruching and ruffles and best of all – everything is very fresh.  No old lady clothes here, friends.  Check out a few pieces of the latest collection:

I am literally obsessed.  You can visit Jane Darling’s website by clicking HERE, stop by Shanghai Alterations in Sandy Springs or Beth Ann boutique in Buckhead or Fragile Gifts in Sandy Springs.

BETTER YET:  Stop by Fragile on THURSDAY November 17th from 6:30 – 8:00PM for a JDBM trunk show! 6010 Sandy Springs Cir NE # C  Atlanta, GA 30328

Bonus: 10% of all orders done during the Trunk Show will be given to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation!

(Bonus bonus: You get to go to Fragile.  Which is an amazing place.  But that is another post for another day – probably after I register for spectacular home goods there!)

I am begging you to check out Jane Darling by ME.  At this time, I’d like to issue a preemptive “I told you so.”

I think I will.

I told you so.

xx, L

ATTENTION all Auburn fans: A friend of our dear friend, M. Reynolds, started an awesome company that you need to know about – Toomers Rolls!

But first, I need to give everyone else a little Auburn 411…

The intersection of Magnolia Avenue + College Street in Auburn, which marks the transition from downtown Auburn to the university campus, is known as Toomer’s Corner.  Hanging over the corner are two massive old-growth oak trees, and whenever there is cause for celebration in the Auburn community, the trees are festooned with toilet paper.  (Oooh, I like the word “festooned.”)  The TP rolling of oak trees started in the early 1990s after the power lines were moved under ground.  Traditionally only used as a way to celebrate football victories, in recent years it has become a way to celebrate anything good that happens concerning Auburn.  (www.wikipedia.com)

toomer's corner

Here’s the Q+DD on Toomers Rolls:

Toomer’s scarves were developed by an Auburn graduate and her Georgia Tech pal from business school.  They are made out of soft “scarf-like” material that will keep you wrapped in spirit while watching an Auburn game…home or away!

Wrapped around a replica of a cardboard toilet paper roll + featuring fine stitching mimicking toilet paper perforation seams, these scarves give a nod to Auburn University’s famous winning tradition while preserving the delicate Toomer’s Oaks!

LK + I are Texas fans, but since Texas is in a different conference we feel like we can jump on the Toomers Rolls bandwagon!

who's got school spirit??

We just love scarves (esp. scarves worn in summer), we totally support small businesses, we think toilet paper is v. necessary, and we’re on-board with anything M. Reynolds is about!  (P.S. She’s the adorbs model on the far left of the photo above.)

Get your Toomers Rolls here, War Eagles: GO AUBURN!  Follow Toomers Rolls on Facebook!

And, good luck this season!  :)

It’s October…Breast Cancer Awareness month!  (Don’t forget to look for Linds and Gorms showing the 3-Day who’s boss in less than 3 weeks!)

What better time than now to tell you all about Cure-Couture the most fabulous frocks your hospital has ever seen.

Started by my friend Ashley Segal and her business partner Linsay Alvarado, Cure-Couture was the brainchild of the late fashion designer (and Ashley’s sweet mother) Linda Segal.  The line was born to provide women a stylish alternative to the drab standard-issue hospital gowns and perhaps an extra spring in their step!

Ashley (left) and Linsay

So whether you or someone you love is undergoing medical treatments or giving birth to a precious new life – there’s a cute gown made specifically for every need (and Cure-Couture promises to cover your “assets”)!

Check out some of the fashions:

Please click HERE to see all of their styles

In September of last year, Ashley’s wife, Kristin, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at a VERY young age.

This is Kristin. She’s my favorite. I’m just kidding. (Except I am not kidding.)

She’s now, thankfully, in remission, and in honor of Krisitin and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cure-Couture is offering 10% off the Pink Calipso print gowns!  Check it:

Just enter “FIGHT” at checkout to receive the discount!  (Normally $49)

I think a CureCouture gown is an incredibly thoughtful and uplifting gift idea for the women in your life undergoing treatment or as a maternity gift!

I mean, I don’t know a whole lot of ladies dying to rock the standard-issue blue smocks, right?

Stop by Anthropologie on Howell Mill next Saturday (9/24) from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for a pet adoption event!  My favorite store has partnered with my favorite organization, the Atlanta Humane Society, to find homes for some local pooches!

I really, really LOVE this.  :)

Of all the gorgeous items I’ve bought from Anthro + loved dearly over the years, a furry friend might just be what I’ve been needing most…  I will definitely be there!

Let me tell you about a problem I have on the regular: I’ll have an upcoming wedding, party, meeting, or…I don’t know…Tuesday and somehow I have dreamed up an outfit in my head that doesn’t exist in my closet.  I then unsuccessfully scour every inch of Atlanta (and the internet) looking for it.  Do you ever have that problem?

Oh yeah? You know who else did?   Designer Chris Adkins.

Working as a professional poker player in Vegas (and all over the world), Chris tells me that the tourneys were as much about the clothes as they were about the cards and nothing he found seemed fit his unique personal style: extremely edgy yet EXTREMELY luxe.   (Think: Prada opening a tattoo parlor.)  But the difference between Chris and yours truly is that homeboy decided to take matters into his own hands and design his own clothes.  His own accessories.  His own shoes!  (Needless to say, I love this man.)

Luckily for us, Chris decided to ditch the chips for a while and start his own line of jewelry right here in Atlanta, Thirteen Crowns.

It is AMAZING.  Made with high-end materials and gemstones, every piece is hand made by darling Chris.  Check out some of his pieces:

(For more styles, please visit his website HERE)

You can also visit Polished and Primped (If you haven’t been to P+P – you must.  It’s on the bottom floor of the Plaza Midtown building and it’s SO cute) where Chris has a 13 Crowns shop-in-shop.

Newsflash: Chris will also do custom orders for you.  He tells me “If you can dream it, I can make it.”  This got the wheels turning in my head a little bit…could he be the answer to my aforementioned problem?

Also a marvelous idea: BRIDESMAIDS or HOSTESS gifts.  How cool would it be to have custom jewelry created for the lovely ladies (or gentlemen!) in your life?  Chris will work with you to ensure your vision is realized in the most beautiful way possible.

I really and truly love his pieces – I was interested in meeting him before I knew how amazing he is personally, I think his work speaks for itself.  But I must tell you, I absolutely ADORED Chris.

For me, the best part of all of this is that when you talk to Chris, you can tell that this is his art and it MEANS something to him.  I don’t want to get too touchy-feely on you guys, but I get the sense that each piece of jewelry comes with some pretty awesome energy as well.

So, get crowned with Thirteen Crowns A-SNAP, ladies.  (It’s only fitting – you’re princesses, after all, right?)

xx, L
