Is it just me or is every week a Restaurant Week??

Not that I’m complaining…but still.  It seems like every time I turn around it’s another RW.  (P.S. It’s impossible for me to write “turn around” w/o breaking into song in my head.  “TURN AROUND…every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you’re never comin’ round…TURN AROUND Bright Eyes!” )  Excellent.  Will have that in my head for the rest of the afternoon.  Similarly, I can’t say the word “situation” any longer without thinking of my favorite Thursday night guilty pleasure.  GTL 4 Life, yo.

mike "the situation"

Okay, okay – back to business…

My personal favorites included in this list are Ecco (don’t forget to get a bottle of my favorite wine!), Pacci and Serpas, but overall this is a nice selection of restaurants for an excellent deal.  Don’t miss out, but honestly if you do, I’m sure that it will be Midtown RW again in a month or two.  Just sayin’…  :)

Please do not forget that it is BUCKHEAD RESTAURANT WEEK. I can’t wait to eat at Anis tonight! I’m feeling very French already...

You know, in Paris they're just "fries"

I know it’s late notice, but the INMAN PARK SPRING RESTAURANT WEEK is also 03/08 (today!) through 03/14!

The Q+DD on IPRW: You know the drill. Great restaurants at a crazy discount. One week only! Although, as a good-karma extra, this Spring, the event will benefit the Believe In Me Foundation, which supports the education and welfare of children with autism and is led by Chef Shaun Doty.

Bonus: $1 raffle tickets will be sold and will go towards the charity.  The Winner will win an hors d’ouerves, beer and wine party for 30 people hosted by Kevin  Rathbun.  Each participating chef will create an appetizer, chooose beer and wine, and celebrate the evening  with thirty of the winner’s friends.

As in IPRWs past (view my previous post here) the restaurant discounts are in tiers:

$15: Fritti, Pure Taqueria, The Albert, North Highland Pub (dinner for 2)

$25: Wisteria, Parish Food & Goods, Fritti, Park’s Edge, Rathbun’s, Sauced, Shaun’s, Zaya Mediterranean Cuisine

$35: Kevin Rathbun Steak, Sotto Sotto

I must admit: I am SHOCKED that I can even THINK about food after the amazing amount of homemade Pizza Rolls and Milk Duds I consumed at our friend Meredith’s fabulous Oscar party last night…

I am ALL ABOUT various neighborhood restaurant weeks. It’s a combination of my favorite things: restaurants, good deals, and hype.

That said, you should know that the inaugural Buckhead Restaurant week is right around the corner! 3 courses for $25? Yes, please!

Here are a few of my favorite participants:

Anis
Anis is such a perfect little date spot! It’s this amazing little French resto in a charming little house off Grandview. They have an outside patio (and allow pups!) as well as cozy inside seating. Love!

Aria
(Or Aria’s as my mom calls it.) If you have never been, you are seriously missing out. Aria is one of my favorite restaurants in the city – it’s romantic, the food is amazing, and it’s very glam in an understated sort of way.

Bistro Niko
You know a restaurant is cool when EZ elects to celebrate her birthday there! In the bottom of the Soverign building, this chic little French bistro is the newest addition to the Buckhead Life restaurant group. The bar area is especially cool.

Capital Grille
Two words: Stoli Doli. When l lived in the Eclipse (located just behind the restaurant) this was my go-to happy hour spot. It’s a higher-end steak joint, and everything on the menu is delish, but the lobster mac + cheese will change your life and the calamari is out of this world. Their signature cocktail is the “Stoli Doli” – a martini made with pineapple infused vodka. DELISH. Plus, it has the whole country club chic thing going on and I love that.

Kyma
Another Buckhead Life participant, and Lindsay’s favorite big fat Greek restaurant. Go get your taramasalata on, yo.

Nava
I celebrated a landmark birthday here and will always have a special place in my heart for blue cornbread, prickly pear margaritas, and lobster tacos…

Other participating restaurants are Aja (it’s pronounced like Asia, FYI, not Ah-zjh-ah- I asked!), Aqua Bistro, Atlanta Fish Market, Blue Pointe, Cantina (where Lola used to be), Craftbar, Gordon Biersch, Home, Market, Paces 88, The Palm, Pricci, Prime, Ruth’s Chris, Shula’s 347, and The Grape.

You can make reservations by calling the restaurants (duh) or on Opentable.com, a sponsor of the event.

Please note that alcohol and gratuity are not included in the $25.

Happy fine dining on a dime!

It’s a restaurant week EPIDEMIC!

Right on the heels of Downtown and Midtown restaurant weeks comes INMAN PARK restaurant week! Check it: http://www.inmanparkrestaurantweek.com
inmanparkYou know the drill: 3 course meals at fabulous restaurants at fabulous prices. IPRW has three tiers – $15, $25, and $35 as follows:

$15
Pure Taqueria (ok I may be too blonde to understand this, but Pure in Inman Park won’t be QUITE open yet in time for IPRW. But they’re listed as a participant and I’ve been to the one in ‘Phretta courtesy of my fabulous OTP friends L+J and LOVED it. We were super rowdy and I was glad I had a designated driver to cart me back down to Exit #1. There is also a location in Woodstock. What is a Woodstock?)
Sauced – only on Sept 25. I don’t get it, but whatevs, I really dig their logo.
The Albert

$25
Fritti - I adore Fritti. I love their little patio, I love their thin crust pizzas, I love their calamari, I love their risotto croquettes, and I love that the chef once brought me a glass of his personal homemade limoncello…which isn’t on the menu.
Sotto Sotto – I have never had a bad time or a bad meal at Sotto Sotto. Plus – if you’re lucky, you’ll see this girl there:

amysarifShe’s what you call “obsessed” with the place.

Wisteria – This place must be magical because out of all the restaurants in Atlanta, Linds elected to have her birthday there this year and it was spectacular. Witness:

lindsbdaywisteria

Rathbun’s -sigh. :) Just go. And don’t forget about Krog Bar, either.
Parrish – see here
Park’s Edge
Zaya

Shaun’s (but don’t forget…Shaun’s also has $12 pasta Sundays. Talk about recessionista dining!)

$35
Kevin Rathbun Steak

Bon Appétit!

Since I will be trapped inside the theatre rehearsing every night this week (I open September 11th! www.ansleyparkplayhouse.com) I hope you guys take advantage of a 3 course meal for $25 at some of my favorite restaurants in town!

View the complete list of restaurants here, but here’s a Q+DD rundown of my personal recommendations:

topflr1. Top Flr. I haven’t been able to blog about Top Flr yet because it’s by far and away my favorite restaurant in town and frankly, I don’t know where to start. Chic, delicious, laid back, and it’s my opinion that the food should be twice the price. I adore Top Flr.

My besties at Top Flr for my birthday this year

2. Ecco. Love it. Please view Linds’s former posts here and here.

3. 4th and Swift. Truffle parmesan popcorn…hello! 4+S is fabulous. Christine tells me that you can only make restaurant week reservations here for certain times, so call to be sure that your reservation is part of the deal.

4. Repast. It’s in a funky location, but Repast is delish. Be sure and try the banana dessert, I hear it’s ta die fah.

5. Livingston. Across from the Faaaaaaaaabulous Fox. Please view an earlier post here.

6. Ra. Love. You should definitely try it. Please view a former post here and here. Oh, and here, too!

7. Steel. Linds and I have been known to frequent Steel twice in a 24 hour period. You MUST get the tuna tower. I dream about it. I do.

Flavors Magazine (L + I went to the unveiling of this magazine cover at Joel last year!)

Flavors Magazine (L + I went to the unveiling of this magazine cover at Joel last year!)

8. One Midtown Kitchen/Two Urban Licks (sorry, I don’t love Trois or Tap so I had to leave them off.) One would have to be my second favorite restaurant in town. The food is delish and I love the atmosphere, it’s so pretty (love it around the holidays…something about white lights!) and also so comfortable. Two is always a good place to start a rowdy night. I hear they took the lamb lollipops off the menu which is a real bummer, but the last time I was there I had their basil/lime infused vodka and thought I died and went to heaven.

Go. Enjoy. Tell me how it goes. I’ll try and contain my jealousy…
