I have about 239481 things to tell you, but right now, I am swimming in tech terms as I settle in to my new role as an IT recruiter.  I thought I was techy, you know, ’cause I have a blog…but as it turns out, not so much.

(I even put on my glasses and everything!  Usually that makes me feel VERY smart.)

LK at work. Except I would never walk around with a stupid bluetooth in my ear. C'mon, Barbs!

I still have a LOT to learn, but believe it or not, I’ve been there a month and it’s all starting to come together a little bit.   Hey, until a month ago, I thought Java was what old hippies called coffee. If you don’t get that joke…you’re still our target audience.

Anyway. I’m thinking what I really need is a basic computer class or book.  Something along the lines of “Computers for Blondes.”

Any ideas?

On Sunday, I saw Julie & Julia with Julie.

juliejulia

I demand that you see this movie.

It was fantastic. And not just because I have an undeniably enormous acting-crush on Meryl Streep (but, really, she is so good.) or because am developing a slightly smaller one on Amy Adams…

The movie was very charming and just beautifully done and really touched me on a lot of different levels.
Also, Stanley Tucci is a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e.  His representation of Paul Child made me want to reconsider my stance on serious mustaches.

I also really appreciated the part of the movie when Julie Powell was wrestling with moral issues surrounding cooking a live lobster while the Talking Heads song, “Psycho Killer” played in the background

…lobsta killah!….lobsta killah!…

It was great.  Go see it.  Just do it.

Bon Appetit!

Oh and PS, just so you’re educated, you can view Julie Powell’s blog here.

And buy her book, Julie & Julia, here.

And Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking here.
