I tried boiled peanuts for the first time @ Ormsby’s last night!
(I’m still trying hard to become a fixture there.)

The texture was sorta weird, but I really liked them! How did I not know about these before?
Also, Ormsby’s is the perfect place to spend a snowy winter night! That’s all.

this post is going to make my dad SO HAPPY.
Boiled Peanuts = Kraselsky family fave. (also = bribe to go to his hometown of Dothan, AL where we have been buying boiled “p-nuts” from the same father/son stand on the side of the road for 20 years.)

This post made my dad so happyyyyyy! Since we are originally from LA (that’s Lower Alabama) the Kraselskys are huge “boil’d p-nut” fans. In fact, for decades now, whenever my dad makes the Birmingham/Dothan commute, he still visits the same father/son roadside stand. Crazy!
Fair warning: If you ever write a post about live bait from a vending machine, please expect a request for official adoption into my family.

I think to become a fixture you’ve gotta hang out there at least 3X a week. I have experience doing this at Halo and MidCity cafe
