The 411 on Greystone @ Piedmont Park
10/15/2009 in Event Space, Events, Parties, Vendors, Weddings by Lindsay | 1 comment
I went on a little site visit yesterday with some colleagues to see what all the fuss is about at Piedmont Park. Apparently, Greystone is the new event space – recently built at the Park – and people just can’t stop talking about it. Now, I see why. Unfortunately, though, I can’t use it for the gala I plan for work each summer because the darn thing is reserved every weekend from April – August 2010 for weddings!
So, without further adieu, here’s the Q+DD on Greystone @ Piedmont Park:
Named for its original granite walls, Greystone boasts 9,000 square feet of event space. It is ideal for wedding receptions, exhibitions, social events and corporate meetings. It cost the Piedmont Park Conservancy $8 million to build (w/ the Aquatics Center + repairs on the Picnic Pavillion and the Band Stand across from Greystone) and is a sustainable, green property. Look how lovely!

Greystone East Facade
With state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, an efficient, well-equipped catering kitchen and exquisite interior space – Greystone is sure to please both exhibitors and party planners. (Personally, I think it blows Magnolia Hall @ Piedmont Park completely out of the water.)

Seated Dinner in Greystone's South Wing
Greystone seats up to 220 people in the South Wing + 50 additional people in the adjoining Main Hall. Terraces seat up to 120 people on provided patio furniture. The Main Terrace seats 150-180 for ceremony (Greystone’s chivari chairs can be used for ceremonies). Events must end when the Park closes @ 11:00 pm, although vendors are permitted one extra hour to load out. Parking is kind of difficult, but it is possible to park at the SAGE parking garage – owned by the Botanical Gardens and shared by Park visitors.

If you are planning an event, I strongly suggest visiting Greystone. It’s a beautiful and convenient event space – and you certainly can’t beat hosting an event at the Park! Unless it’s at the St. Reg, that is. (Miss you, St. Reg!)
