Tacos + turnip greens… …+ Topor!

Fabulousness.

All at Taqueria del Sol for lunch yesterday. Can someone please tell me what’s better than that?

Ever since TK sent me the article that mentioned the turnips at T del S I have been trying to orchestrate a visit to sample…it didn’t take me too long to succeed!

Here’s the Q+DD on Taqueria del Sol:

1. You order at the counter and someone will bring you your food.
2. More often than not, the line often looks s.c.a.r.y. but it moves at lightning speed. Do not be afraid when you walk up and you see a sea of people snaking around the building. You will have your little baskets of deliciousness in mere moments. Trust.
3. Do not try to secure a table before you have ordered. It is against The Rules.
4. As far as ordering goes, Lindsay is a die-hard chicken enchilada fan and if there is someone to trust in the Mexican food arena, it is Lindsay. She also tells me they are fat-free. (I have my doubts.)

Even so, I have yet to stray from the tacos. The fried chicken (with lime jalapeño mayonnaise) and fried fish (with poblano tartar sauce and pickled jalapeños) are, of course, delicious, but I am also partial to the Memphis and the Brisket as well. Oh, ok, they are all amazing.

And y’all: get an appetizer. I don’t care which. I like to mix it up. Salsa trio, queso, guac…it all just depends on my mood.

I just adore Taqueria. It’s no frills, just good food. (and I love frills! Regardless, I am there all. the. time.) It’s perfect for a quick little lunch, a speedy dinner before your movie at the Tara, or just a random weeknight when you want (need?) to knock back a few margaritas (ok, ok, a pitcher of margaritas.)

Oh, and FYI: the turnip greens were indeed spectacular!
