Liquid N2 milkshakes @ Flip Burger Boutique
Allow me to introduce you to heaven: nutella + burnt marshmallow (left) and krispy kreme (right) milkshakes at Flip Burger Boutique. These bad boys are worthy of ever single carb and calorie sinisterly-loaded into them. Be forewarned: they are not for the faint-hearted. You have to be incredibly serious about them and order with confidence and conviction!
Flip Burger chef and owner, Richard Blais ( Top Chef: Chicago/ Iron Chef America…yadda yadda yadda – we all know him) works quite a bit with liquid nitrogen and these shakes arrive from the kitchen in eighth grade science class-style, bubbling over from the top. Although nutella + burnt marshmallow certainly brings me back to my beloved summer camp days, the krispy kreme shake is my favorite! And it comes complete with a crumpled up krispy kreme doughnut inside of it. Heaven, hello! Trust me – this lactose-challenged foodie would never kid around about milk products. Moving on…
burgs galore @ Flip Burger Boutique
Also, as you may well know, you can order burgers at Flip…Burger Boutique. My personal favorite is the southern beef burger: country fried beef patty (I don’t get mine fried), house-made pimento cheese and green tomato ketchup. Last time we went, Slick got the chorizo flip burger: spicy pork sausage, romesco ketchup, hash browns, fried egg, machego cheese and smoked mayo. I ate the majority of it – it. was. amazing. Also, the pate melt is supposed to be delish: veal & pork, swiss cheese, cornichons, lingonberry and dijon. In full disclosure: I have not personally tried it, but based on everything else I’ve shoveled into my mouth there – I’ll put money on it that it is also incredible.
Flip does not take reservations, so make sure that you arrive early or prepare to wait a bit… While you are waiting for a table, check out the super-hip interior – love the booths!

OK so you’re going to think I am crazy but I am BEGGING you to also try the foie gras milkshake as well.
I went there with my cousins (and fellow Top Chef fanatics) Jason + Kim and our darling web master, Mark and I think we were all in agreement that while the Krispy Kreme shake was, indeed, life altering, the goose liver had it beat. Trust.

I’ve also tried that Krispy Kreme Milkshake and you hit the nail on the head when you described it. Nothing better than amazing donuts mixed into an amazing milkshake. Also, on the 3 separate trips I’ve been there I’ve tried the Chorizo, rBQ, and the Bacon and Cheese and all 3 of them were delicious. It’s a great restaurant and anyone who hasn’t tried it definitely should.
