Alternative Fast Food

As my colleagues and I were driving to WaterHaven for lunch yesterday (really didn’t love – but let’s keep it on the positive), we passed something incredible.  Under the ViewPoint building in Midtown, men in hard hats were diligently constructing and working with plywood in a retail space called “Evos.”  Under the neon-lit four letter name, we read the most glorious words: ”healthy fast food.”  And, we just barely avoided a massive car wreck…

So, naturally I had to do a bit of investigative work.  Here’s the Q+DD on Evos:

Evos is an alternative fast food franchise (also in CA, FL and NC) specializing in healthy and environmentally sound eats, featuring soy, veggie, turkey and salmon burgers, fruit smoothies and their signature Airfries.  They Airbake (of course) their Airfries instead of deep-frying, which saves us 50-70% of the fat.  Also, they cater.  Awesome.

The company website touts the restaurant as feeling “inspired, energetic, real, philanthropic, culturally plugged in, adventurous, respectful, fresh, forward thinking…”  It kind of sounds like everything I’d been looking for in a man…  I want to give this restaurant a hug.

I can’t wait to try it!  Sounds like heaven to me…and we all know how big of a sucker I am for healthy gimmicks.  Nevertheless, I have a feeling this one will be around for a while!

Please let me know when you want to try this place because I am oh so curious to find out how alternative fast food tastes. Hopefully not like cardboard.
