Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner…

“Look, spaghetti arms. This is my dance space. This is your dance space. I don't go into yours, you don't go into mine. You gotta hold the frame."

Y’all I am sad about Patrick Swayze. I was commiserating with DK (who is equally as distraught over this loss) this morning and I confessed to her that even though I watched Dirty Dancing over and over and over and over (and over and over and over and over…) as a kid, I realize that it was one of those movies where I had absolutely NO IDEA what was going on until I revisited it later as an adult.

(like, why is everyone so upset that Penny has a stomach ache?)

Go back to your playpen, Baby.

In any event, it was a movie that helped define our generation. And as far as I’m concerned, there are two types of girls in this world: 1) girls who had a crush on Patrick Swayze and 2) Liars.

And who could forget this classic moment in American Television?

I say we all listen to Hungry Eyes on repeat tonight.

Ya’ know, I have never seen Dirty Dancing. I’ve listened to the soundtrack about nine hundred times. Which now that I think about it is a little weird. Like why did my mom buy me the soundtrack to a movie I never watched? And why did I want it? I can’t decide if this is good or poor marketing.

Chippendale’s is a classic. Thanks for posting. RIP, Bodhi (have seen Point Break. A lot)

Jo, that is unacceptable. I demand that you watch the movie immediately if not sooner.

The irony of this whole situation is that we listen to xm radio at work, and the “Blend” station is really nothing more than the DD Soundtrack with some Plain White T’s and Lionel Richie thrown in for kicks. I hear “Hungry Eyes” everday and everyday, I think of PS and JG- pre nose job….. and you’re right Lauren, it take growing up to really understand the movie, but we loved the dancing and the rebellion and we really loved making fun of Baby’s terrible sister! Ugh, her hair, her make up, her choice in men- aye carumba!

Patrick Swayze is one of the most talented actors in Hollywood, he would surely be missed by a lot of his fan.
