…and “quirky” would have been an understatement for the two Edith Beales.
FYI: Today’s Groupon is for discounted tickets ($15!) to the Actor’s Express show, Grey Gardens which is based on the acclaimed 1975 documentary film about Jackie O’s aunt and cousin, both named Edith Beales. (“Big Edie” and “Little Edie”). The two were co-dependent on one another to say the least, living in their dilapidated mansion (which had no running water and was full of all kinds of critters, garbage and decay) in the wealthy Georgica Pond neighborhood of East Hampton, New York. (Funny, I thought the only thing East Hampton women collected were ex husbands? I kid! I kid!)

Anyway, Actor’s Express is fantastic. Located in the King Plow Arts Center, their productions are always beautifully executed and deliciously avant garde.
The show times are as follows:
Wed. 9/2 at 8 p.m.
Thurs. 9/3 at 8 p.m.
Fri. 9/4 at 8 p.m.
Sat. 9/5 at 8 p.m.
