So Nice – It Gets Blogged About Twice!

In one of my first blogs, I mentioned that I absolutely love the sparkling Fifth Group gem, Ecco, and that the restaurant has an incredible wine selection.  Well, I took Christine on a girlie date last Thursday and we ordered the  Gramona Gessami (of course!) and now she is on the boat, too!  I am speaking from the heart when I say that this is one of the best bottles of wine I’ve ever tasted.  When I studied abroad in Spain, I drank my weight in Albarinos and thought that it would be the wine to end all others for me.  Ecco has proven me wrong with it’s Gessami.

Here’s the Q+DD on my NEW fav. wine: Gramona Gessami is an aromatic white wine from the Penedes region of northeast Spain.  It is bright straw-yellow in color with an aromatic nose of apricots, pears, citrus, jasmine and mineral notes.  Light-medium in body with bright acidity, the wine offers clean flavors of pears, peaches, and spice – with no oak.  It is well-balanced to enjoy in its youth.  The wine is long and smooth on the finish, with lingering floral notes. You should enjoy Gramona Gessami as a summertime aperitif wine and to accompany grilled shrimp, baked halibut, chicken salad and spicy Asian dishes. (www.winegems.net)
